President Tyson Cattle reviews the 2018 Falcons season…
The year 2018 will be known as a year the club made significant steps in the right direction to a stronger and more stable future.
The club has done a significant amount of work with the women’s team, masters club and with a potential relocation to position itself to continue to grow.
After a year of rebuilding some stability in 2017, the club now has a focus on growth and opportunity.
On behalf of the club, I would like to thank the sponsors for the 2018 season. Without the generous support from all of these organisations and the support from the community, the club would not have been able to achieve what it has.
Engine Property Group,
Greg Hocking Real Estate,
Facility Management 1,
The Little Caravan Company,
Lewis Grant Builders,
The Space Agency,
Neils Meats, and
Along with all the other various player sponsors and generous support we have had.
Next, I would like to thank the Netball club and all the participants in particular Dee Kinsella, who has done an enormous amount of work on the committee and been a major part of bringing the netball and football club together, as well as being a key driver for the women’s football team.
The canteen again has been tremendous, and the way the netballers have embraced it and really got behind the footballers has been awesome as well as the support for the events throughout the year.
The next I would like to thank is our support staff around the club – Micky Allan, Brett Little, Trent Smoker, Adam Tumble – you have done an amazing job throughout the year and again – without the help from you all on matchday – it would be a tough ask for the club.
I would like to thank the football department Timmy More, Nick Thurley, Will Ransom, Stuart Maunder and of course, Paul Shoppee.
I thank all the coaching staff for the way they carried themselves and worked together throughout the year albeit with some difficult on-field results.
I would also like to thank Neville ‘Birdie’ Pearson and Bill ‘Jet’ Jackson again for the huge amount of support we have had from them throughout the year. It is great to have you all involved.
I would like to thank the committee – Timmy Barnett, Nick Percy, Brodie Matheson, James Allen, Lucas Gniel, Dearne Kinsella, Sean Lewis, along with the support of our advisors of Gregg Amies, Tim More and Tristan Tiller.
The committee has held strong in its goals throughout the year and I think that is reflected in the financial and cultural results of the club throughout the year.
I thank all of you for putting in your own time to work and help the club.
Finally I would like to thank the players and supporters. I’m looking forward to next year and continuing to build the club to a stronger future.
