THE Albert Park Falcons are proud to announce the club will be launching a women’s team for the 2019 season.
Albert Park Football & Netball Club president Tyson Cattle said it would be a great addition to club.
“Having a women’s team will allow us to expand our offering as a club,” Mr Cattle said.
“The committee is dedicated to continue to grow the club and a women’s team is a natural progression.”
The Falcons already have two senior men’s teams and two women’s netball teams, who play on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, which could grow to three netball teams early next year.
Mr Cattle said that it was obvious AFLW was continuing to grow in popularity and showed no sign of slowing down.
“We understand that surrounding clubs in the Albert Park area also have women’s football teams and they are going very well,” he said.
“We believe there is a still a large pool of players in the local area who are looking for a club and keen to have a kick, and we would encourage them to come down to the Falcons.”
The Albert Park Falcons will be holding an information session 6:30pm on Wednesday, June 27, at the club’s home ground of Oval 20, Beaurepaire Pavilion, Aughtie Drive, Albert Park.
Food and drinks will be provided.
If you have any questions about the team and are keen to be involved, please come down to the information night, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
